Force the TYPO3 backend to use UTF-8


If you want to force the TYPO3 backend to use UTF8 then you must set the following option in typo3conf/localconf.php


$TYPO3_CONF_VARS['BE']['forceCharset'] = 'utf-8';



This is useful if you use non standard latin characters or characters in some foreign (non english) languages.
