Install ToolThe TYPO3 Install Tool is used to configure the system according to the users needs. Though its called Install Tool it is not used to install TYPO3 but rather to configure it.Table of contentsAccess the Install ToolThe Install Tool can be accessed in two ways:
Enable / disable the Install ToolThe Install Tool is disabled by default for security reasons. In order to enable it the admin must create a file named ENABLE_INSTALL_TOOL in the typo3conf directory. In newer TYPO3 versions (from 4.6) the ENABLE_INSTALL_TOOL can be created from the TYPO3 backend by accessing the Install menu item. Disabling the Install Tool can be done easily by deleting this file.
