The backend displays No thumbs generated instead of thumbnails or frontend images will not display

If you constantly get in TYPO3 backend the message "No thumb generated" instead of thumbnails or your images will not display on the frontend then either

1) ImageMagick is not properly installed

To fix this go to install tool and locate the im_path setting. There you should check if the corect path to the convert command is specified. Usually this is /usr/bin/ or /usr/X11R6/bin/


2) your typo3temp directory is not writable

To fix this make the directory writable with the chmod command
