typo3temp

The typo3temp directory in TYPO3 is used to store temporary data for buffering and performance improvements. The data in this directory can be: dynamically generated images, language files, cached javascript files.

If files are deleted from this directory they will be automatically recreated by TYPO3 on the next run if this files are needed for the display of the current page.

The directory must exist in any TYPO3 installation because the lock files are created in this directory. If the typo3temp directory does not exist the page is not processed and an error message will be displayed.
